PALM
Malaysian palm oil futures fell nearly 2% on Monday, slipping from a two-year high hit in the previous session, as lacklustre export data clouded outlook and traders locked in gains.
There was some technical correction due to overbuying in the previous session and weak exports weighed on prices, » said a Kuala Lumpur-based trader
Palm oil prices tracked rival oils lower.
Dalian’s January soyoil contract was 0.7% lower, while soyoil on the Chicago Board of Trade fell 0.1%.
EURO VEG OILS
Palm oil on the European vegetable oils market continued to rise on Friday following firmer Malaysian palm oil futures on concerns about tight palm oil supplies in 2020 on Indonesia’s intentions to cut fossil fuel consumption.
Indonesia plans biodiesel to contain 30 percent palm-based fuel, which is expected to reduce fossil diesel fuel consumption by 165,000 barrels per day
EU rapeoil was mostly offered between flat and three euros per tonne up from Thursday, following gains in Chicago soyoil and technical strength in rapeseed futures. Gains were limited by a dip in energy markets.
Lauric oils were quoted between unchanged and $15 a tonne higher, tracking the firmer tone in palm oil. The spread between coconut oil and the cheaper palmkernel oil was $80 a tonne for January/February shipment.
SOYA
Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soybean futures slid on Friday, touching on an 11-week low, on technical selling and the market continued to monitor U.S.-China trade talks, traders said.
The market was also less than impressed with a jump in recent soybean export sales between the two countries, three traders said.
FISH OIL
PERU
The catch so far this week (Monday-Wednesday) has remained slow with 58.769 mt reported Monday-Wednesday (explained by the cold waters and dispersed fish), bringing the preliminary total this season to 594.500 mt against the 2,786 mill mt quota. The market has continued to be cautious on both sides.
